ICE CREAM SOCIAL A BIG SUCCESS
From the Re-Echo, December 2008

September 20 was the date of our annual Ice Cream Social at the Historic Depot at 37th and Brunswick. Thanks to the hundreds of kids and their parents for coming to eat ice cream, drink lemonade, and visit with Sparky the Fire Dog! The fire department came with their big truck, and a police car was there for kids to tour. We had one antique car that was very popular too. And we had a model train set up in the baggage room of the Depot. The event is the Historical Society’s only fundraiser of the year, and we are supported again this year by Byerly’s, who generously provided the ice cream, lemonade, and other supplies. A BIG THANKS to Rick Birno and the City of St. Louis Park for refurbishing the exterior of the Depot in time for the event - it looks great!
