7112 MINNETONKA BLVD.

This residence was built in 1890.  Since about 1974 the house has been owned by Carl Eide, who had owned a motorcycle shop at 36th and Wooddale with his brother.

In about 2013 the porch began to sag away from the building.  Then the brick veneer broke away to reveal areas of rotting wood and serious problems with the house’s foundation.  Despite two years of efforts to fix the problems, the city has ordered the house to be demolished at the end of January 2015.  A comprehensive story about the fate of the house by John Reinan at the StarTribune can be read HERE.
