T.B. WALKER'S METHODIST CHURCH

In 1891, missionary David Tice headed a movement to establish a Methodist church in St. Louis Park. T.B. Walker built a Methodist church, located on Brownlow Ave. near the Brick Block for $4,000. Rev. Mr. Kerfoot was pastor, and he went on to become the President of Hamline University.

The church suffered severe damage in the tornado of 1925. It reportedly burned to the ground - some say firefighters saw fit to save a nearby saloon instead. The small congregation did not replace the building. The bell was transferred to the Brookside Community Church, which became Aldersgate.
