The following is an incomplete list of the many Sorensen families in St. Louis Park. There is no guarantee that the Sorensens listed below are all related to each other. Please contact us for corrections and additions.
NELS SORENSEN
Nels Sorensen was born in Denmark in 1862 and came to the US in 1883. He and his wife Serna (Serina), born in 1869, had children Rosa (1894), Robert (1897), and Helen. In 1900-10 he was a weigher at a grain elevator. Nels and Serina lived in one of three company houses at the southeast corner of Highways 7 and 100, where Nordic Ware is now. The other two houses were occupied by Robert and Mae, and Jack and Mary Johnson.
ROBERT SORENSEN
Clyde’s first wife Georgia was born on September 7, 1920. She worked at Control Data for 10 years, then Honeywell, then asked back to CD. The couple had three daughters: Judy, Pam, and Carol. They divorced in 1975. Clyde had two more wives before he died on November 21, 1988. Georgia died on April 12, 2004.
CHESTER SORENSEN
Max P. Sorensen was born in Denmark and came to the U.S. in 1888. He was a blacksmith according to the 1910 Census. His wife Bertha came to the U.S. in 1892. Their children were Lillian and Albert.
FRED SORENSEN
Fred Sorensen was born in March 1871 in Denmark and came to the US in 1892. In 1900 he lived in St. Louis Park and worked at a dairy. His wife Christina was born in 1870 and came to the US in 1893. Their children were Katie and Mabel.
