THE RIXON FAMILY

Charles Rixon came to Minneapolis in 1873, employed as a carpenter.  He served as the clerk (secretary) of the School Board in 1890 (1893-94).  Rixon was a farmer, and sold his goods at the Central City Market, Stall 312, just down from where CB Waddell sold his wares.  He also taught at Pratt School.
 

Charles Rixon married Emily Baston, a former student of his.  Emily and Charles had three children, Alice, Martha, and Howard Searle Rixon.

Alice was one of two graduates of Lincoln High School, Class of 1902. In 1915 she taught school at Minnetonka Mills.
 

Martha married Arthur Anderson in 1915 and and they lived on Zarthan Ave. in St. Louis Park. The had a son, Burton ("Bud") Rixon Anderson, and a daughter, Alice Ruth, named after Martha’s sister, Alice Rixon, and cousin, Ruth Waddell. (2nd husband Wylie?)
