EXCELSIOR BLVD. HISTORIC BUILDINGS
Excelsior Blvd. has always been an important - if not
illustrious - place. In addition to being a major road
through town, the buildings that flanked it made up much of
St. Louis Park's commerce and entertainment.
Redevelopment has taken and will continue to take these
buildings away, but let us remember them and how they served
us. (A * indicates a building taken for
Excelsior and
Grand.)
The following are addresses of many (but not all) of the buildings for which we have some historical information. The dates come from phone directories, newspaper articles and ads, and a number of other sources.
They are identified by the occupant that was perhaps the most prominent
in the past. The chronologies are by no means complete, and we invite you to contact us
with any corrections, additions, or other comments. You
