5900 EXCELSIOR BLVD.

Although we don’t know when the original building was built, we do know that in 1948 it was owned by Art Engstrom, Jr., JL Engstrom, and a Mr. Leinberger.

In 1952 it was rebuilt as a Phillips 66 Station ( JA Johnson Co.). Various names of the station over the years include:

M&A Service (1954)

Mike and Milt's "66" Service (1956)

Swanson Brothers “66” Service (1960)

(George) Keith's Phillips 66 Service (also 1960)

Jack's "66" Super Service (1961-1964)

Brookside "66" (1966-1970; in 1967 it was Dave Barton “66).

The current SuperAmerica gas station was built in 1978.
