JAMES DAHL

James Dahl served as Mayor of St. Louis Park from June 6, 1975 (when Frank Fleetham resigned) to June 2, 1976, when he resigned to take a job with the County Sheriff. 

Dahl was a career police officer in St. Louis Park.  He retired as the Captain working under Chief Clyde Sorensen.  There are pictures of him at www.slppd.org "gallery."  He was a member of a law enforcement family.  His father was one of the original members of the Minnesota Highway Patrol.  His brother was a Wayzata police officer and his son is retired from the Plymouth Police Department.  Captain Dahl was a Marine during WWII and was awarded at least one Purple Hearth, serving in Iwo Jima.
