GUY BANNISTER

Perhaps not a household name, Guy Bannister was a figure in the John F. Kennedy assassination and was featured in Oliver Stone’s “JFK.”

An alcoholic and rabid right-winger, Bannister had been a star agent for the FBI and a former Naval Intelligence operative. He was a member of the John Birch Society, the Minutemen, and publisher of a racist newsletter. His office at 544 Camp Street in New Orleans was a well-known meeting place for anti-Castro Cubans, where Oswald was seen handing out pamphlets. He died nine months after the assassination and so was unable to testify before the Warren Commission.  Much speculation ensued as to what he might have said.
 

In the 1950’s, Bannister lived at 3112 Edgewood Avenue in St. Louis Park.
